Winters in Vancouver, British Columbia are milder compared to the east coast. How fortunate we are that we do not always need to wear snow boots and big thick jackets to protect us from the -20 weather because usually doesn’t drop below zero. I used to live there, so I can say that’s true! Even on a cold, sunny Winter day, you can get away with wearing a few layers if they are the right ones. With that, I wanted to share with you the five Winter outfit staples I have been rotating all Winter.
1. A Sophisticated Coat
This Stedman Coat from Aritzia is a great piece. What I love about this coat is that it’s structured where it needs to be and follows your body shape with some room. The below the knee lengths allows for many outfit variations
2. A Wool Scarf
I found myself reaching for this scarf from Oak + Fort because of the print. Usually, I stick to solid colours, but the print and colour combination calls to me.
3. A Cozy and Versatile Sweater
This Thurlow Sweater from Aritzia contains a blend of wool and yak has been fantastic for keeping me warm and looking like a put effort into my outfit. I love that it’s easy to layer or wear on its own. Super cozy and transitional.
I have been wearing the brand Citizens of Humanity for a long time because of the fit. I love a good straight leg denim. Perfect to pair with booties for a casual day out, and looking at my outfit that’s what I’ve done precisely.
I love these booties so much I have them in two colours! Perhaps they changed the styling, the closest boot I could find on their website is here. Cutting at the ankle this versatile style you can wear all year round. The heel gives you a bit of lift and allows for comfort for long distance walking if needed.
I would love to know what staples you have in your closet! Let me know about them in the comments below.
