Getting Married During COVID-19

We got married on May 21, 2021, which is the 21st Day in the 21st week of the 21st Year of the 21st Century. At this time, the restrictions were up to 10 people can gather at a park or beach.

We did an elopement-style wedding with our immediate family. We booked the wedding company Young Hip and Married and their Awesome Elopement package, which accommodates ten guests. It was perfect.
If you’ve seen my engagement photos I chose to go with the same photographer Noyo Creative and make up artist Anita Ngo because I clearly love their work!

Many of our plans changed along with the changes in COVID restrictions. All in all, it was a perfect day spent with our loved ones. We did our ceremony in an open area in Pitt Meadows. Afterwards, we booked a helicopter tour to do more photos on the mountain top.

We booked the Coast Mountain Adventure tour with Sky Helicopters. We also booked extra time on the mountain to maximize photos. The passengers were me, the groom, photographer and videographer, so we didn’t have to share the helicopter with any strangers.

Items you need on your helicopter ride

If you plan on doing a helicopter tour, I recommend bringing these items:

  • Jacket – it does get cold up there, and having a jacket to take on and off during the poses helps.
  • Non-fancy shoes – I wore my Adidas stan smiths because they were the only white shoes I had so that they would camouflage with the snow, and you can’t tell what shoes I’m wearing because the dress is covering. Imagine how cold your feet will be if you wear nice heels in the snow.
  • Water – depending on how long you spend on the mountain top and how hard you are working for your photos, we were constantly walking up and down hilly areas and with the sun, we got very dehydrated.
  • Sunglasses – It was incredibly bright, and with the snow reflecting the light, it was nice to have.
