What I love about the shirt dress is that it is versatile. I cannot think of any other garment that you can wear virtually any type of shoe. Here are some things I keep in mind to style a shirt dress for work.
- Have the right outerwear; this could be a trench or blazer.
- Wear the right accessories. Simple earrings, bracelet or watch.
- Footwear. I cannot wear heels for too long, so I like to keep a sophisticated look with a barely-there heel sandal.
For a casual look, I will wear sneakers. It is the perfect transitional piece for Spring! The sash is long enough that it can be tied many ways. I was at Target recently and found the WhoWhatWear Collection and Sugarfix by Baublebar! A bonus was that this dress and earrings did not break the bank.
If you live in Vancouver, British Columbia, like me, unfortunately, it does not ship to Canada. Make a trip to the states and shop directly at Target, which I recommend because it’s hard shopping online if you have never seen the garments before. Alternatively, ship to your US mailbox.
As a commuter, having a bag that can carry an array of items is essential to me. This bag recently arrived in the mail, and I cannot wait to bring it with me all the time!
