Budgeting for everything wedding related is critical. For myself, I knew that I wanted engagement photos. Also, I did not want to spend more than needed. The tips below may or may not work for you. However, they are what worked for me to save money on engagement photos.
How To Save Money on Engagement Photos
1. Find the Right Photographer
Noyo Creative shot our engagement photos. Iβve had many photography sessions done with them and have never been disappointed. I know I am getting fantastic value for my investment and memories I will cherish forever.
So if you are looking for a photographer, reach out to the different photographers whose style you like and have that initial conversation to see what works for you.
2. Look for the Right Photography Package
Secondly, some photography packages offer complimentary engagement photos as part of the wedding package. Once you find the photographer you want to work with, consider bringing this up to fit your wants and needs.
3. Don’t Buy New Clothes
Moreover, itβs incredibly easy to splurge on a new outfit for your photos, and there isnβt anything wrong with that. For myself, I had a dress I wore to a wedding several years ago used that dress. The navy skirt is a transitional piece purchased last year, and I borrowed the cardigan from a friend. The cost of getting a new outfit I put towards paying for the engagement photos.
4. Pick a Local Location
While there arenβt exactly many options for travel right now. However, choosing a local location eliminates extra travel costs. We took our engagement photos at Whytecliff Park in Vancouver, BC.
5. Choose the Right Makeup Artist
Lastly, you do not need to book a makeup artist for your engagement photos. However, this is the perfect opportunity to test out how your makeup will appear in pictures and how you may want your makeup to look on your special day! I booked Anita Ngo Makeup, she is incredibly talented and receptive to feedback. I felt comfortable sharing what look I wanted, and she delivered!
